This year Halloween was a very different horse of a different color. It hit me how much I really missed the costume planning, the church festivals, and just being out with the kids in the beautiful weather. Although Tyler still goes out in costume after a few years of hiatus, it isn't the same. (Though he does take me along for the decision making process...it's a tad different ..lol).
However, I was blessed to attend a party with Madison, and go to a church Trunk-or-Treat with her and her mommy on Sunday. No, she got nothing out of it, but it was just cute seeing her mommy make her a frame, have her tiny hand painted, and have us both do ours to match, and pick up a few pieces of candy for London, who could not be with us. Madison was adorable in her costume.
I hope my kids look back on Halloween fondly (if not already) and remember the fun, the fellowship, and the love that went into the costumes. I hope Madison and London will be able to continue enjoying the silliness that is Halloween. There are some towns banning it around the country. Sad, indeed.
So, I will close and leave a few pictures of our Sunday fun as a reminder of Madison's 1st Halloween. Oh..and there is a surprise...just because it makes me smile. :)
