One month down, eleven to go

In January I found a photograph a day challenge on FB. Seemed easy enough. Notice I said seemed. You are given a topic to photograph, or have on hand already, etc. Well, a challenge, indeed! I had the hardest time finding my favorite, or guilty pleasure, happiness, or just a photograph of myself, well, that I could tolerate looking at myself...lol. Oh, and was I really ready to show my shoe collection (or lack thereof), or the inside of my fridge? :)

But- I prevailed, and am well on my way into February's challenge. Now, if only my diet could be met with such vigor. :) Another subject for another day, I do believe. However, on that note- May will be here before I know it, and I would like to be a bit less fluffy, and non-muscular, before I have to trek all over Magic Kingdom with children in tow.

I think perhaps when the challenge is over I shall send the shots off to someone to compile into a book of sorts as a memorial of the challenge. Should prove to be an interesting comibination of photographs. :)

So, in regard to challenges-  house, diet, oh, the list grows.... one step at a time. Just like the photo challenge- they didn't say accumulate them all for the month at once- but to do it daily. I have actually found that I am making a concerted effort to really think about the subject matter. For instance, this weekend the challenge was to photograph a stranger. Okay, so I determined in advance that 1) I wanted to photograph an
elderly person who was not looking at me, and 2) that I wanted it to be in black and white. The result I am pleased with. SO- for my diet- I must determine what step each day to take, and then do it. In regard to the house- I must choose which area to focus on - and do that. For the record- I have already begun rethinking the space in my closet and have to purchase two shelves to accomodate the linens/afghans, and in doing so I have also managed to get many items off of the floor and more accessible. So...baby stepping my way through February it shall be. :)

Tomorrow Missypoo will be 5 months. Amazing. This past month she is working on sitting, has begun eating cereal (and sneaking a few bits of other items), has really amazing hand-eye coordination, is sleeping well, drooling even more, and has experienced her first real cold of the year. But- overall, she has been pretty healthy. I am already looking forward to taking her #5 photos tomorrow night when she gets here. If only I could slow time down and babystep our way back through the past 5 months and really take it all in. I am going to meet the next 7 months with purpose and really savor the time with her as she approaches the end of her first year of life. Baby stepping my way through. :)
